PS: The best "real world" appraisal you can get would be to post it on eBay with a super high reserve (something that would pretty much assure it would not sell). When the auction ends add about 20-25% and that should give you a rough "street value"

well, the thing is, i've no idea exactly how old or what the origins are, it's been in the family a while. i would like to know exactly what is up with it. kinda like a medieval table dagger, but the blade is really wide and has a HUGE blood groove.w/a wood$ leather sheath, obviously handmade, but good.
