Antiqued hawk

This is my representation of an old hawk I found while leafing through one of my museum reference books and liked it so here it is;

Head; carved and file worked,forged 1084 steel, with a patinas acid etched blade. Head measures 5 1/4inch overall lenth, Blade 3 1/4, Bit 2 3/4.

Handle; 18 inch tiger maple, carving is of two braves paddling a canoe.

Weight;1lb 1.4 ozs

That's great work Bob. I can't wait to see my spike hawk. I will do my best to put together a nice finished piece. Is cocobolo a good wood to use for the handle? I just have lots of it. Otherwise I think I'll use curly maple.
