For me this is completed knife #7. I'm so happy with the way this came out I have to show it off here.

Here is a link to the work in progress thread with more photos. You can see the "Coke Bottle" handle here also. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=830808

This was a custom order for a hometown customer, they gave me full creative control with one request, make it look old. I got to use my grind style and choice of material; I'm really happy with how it came out! The antiquing process was fun and I learned a lot.

I feel this project combines some of the best modern materials yet looks convincingly old. There were multiple stages of etching, patina application and wood handle aging to simulate what it might of gone through the over the years. The steel started out with an 1800's style Plum Brown finish which was worn down in key spots. After that more plum brown and then bleach, it also got some grapefruit, ferric chloride, hot orange juice, lemon oil, secret ingredients too. :D I really went all out with the wood, I'll spare you the details, lol. :D Even the brass pins got their own seperate patina.

The sheath is distressed and waxed leather over Kydex to stay with my modern materials and aged appearance theme.
