I Am Making Knives For Reinactments Using Stainless Steel For The Blades, And Would Like To Give The Blades An Old Look. I Would Appreciare Any Suggestions. Thanks!

The mustard [vinegar or acetic acid] works on carbon steel not stainless . www.damasteel.biz recommends hydrochloric or sulphuric acid [37% solution] for their stainless.Be very careful handling these concentrated acid solutions !!!

I`ve used the vinegar/mustard on carbon steel blades only and don`t know about stainless.
You can try to stick your knife into a tomatoe and leave it there for a while. You should get a nice patina to it. Worked on carbon steel blades and on one of my stainless kitchen knives. Don`t think it`ll work on every stainless steel blade though. :D
