I purchased a puukko made by Anton Lapin being sold on eBay. I was carefully examined the excellent pictures and picked the one I liked. Here is a link to pictures of some of his other work at Bernard's place. http://www.bladeforums.com/threads/anton-lapin.1491171/

So It arrived today, carefully packaged, and I am completely satisfied.

All grinds totally symmetrical, including a perfect plunge grind.

The sheath, and yes that's stabilized maple burl, holds knife well, and the attachment of the steel ring on the dangler is really robust - just a hair under 1/4" of leather vs. the 3/32 commonly used.

Note the decorative pin in the sheath.

Another member bought one of his knives.

The world is wide, and as many here know, lots of great stuff out there.

Seller says it's D2 at 59-60. Not sure what Anton would say.
I'm glad that you liked the knife. Hardness is likely to be higher there. D2, 60-62 RHC. I do not have a hardness gauge. Forgings I order from a blacksmith with a good reputation, and I always check for improvised tools.

That's a really, really nice set-up you got there, congrats!
