Fortunate circumstances resulted in a recent trade with a friend, the kind of trade I call "a perfect trade". It happens when each party gets
something they always wanted.

I acquired this Fogarizzu Persian folder and he acquired one of the lovelies from my collection, as well.

Oh, and I loved the matching dagger soooo much, but it simply wasn't in the cards (read that as "no way, 'cause he was keepin' that baby").

(Sorry for the fuzz and oil on the folders in the image I shot)

The Persian is significantly the better of the two, imo. Well done.

Best Regards,

This Persian folder, Bob is a true beauty!!!
Antonio retains the true world-class knifemaker status as expected...

All the best,

Bob, beautiful acquisition. I like both knives but I have to agree with Steven that the Persian is the best choice of the two. Well done!!

Congrats Bob - that is a truly elegant piece and a wonderful addition to your collection. Thans for giving us all a quality look at it.

Together, the pair do make a great match. But I'm pretty much in agreement with the crowd here in that, if I had to make a choice,
I would go with the Persian first. Thanks for the comments guys - nice to get a bit of validation on the taste issue, since I kinda
wandered out of my comfort zone, away from the E's and W's toward a folder.

I'm liking them both, but I never handled the dagger.

One thing is for sure to me: it wouldn't matter. They are BOTH fantastic.

I'm pleased for you. You have a good eye.

Bob,

For someone who isn't into folders you picked a super knife to add to your collection.

Thanks, Jim. I had been struck by the beauty of Antonio Fogarizzu's design for awhile. When someone suggested a partial
trade for one of my Warenskis, I decided I shouldn't think long about it, but simply act. Like I mentioned above, we both
got what we wanted in the trade, ie, a perfect trade. I couldn't be happier. I just hope I haven't been hit with "the folder bug".

Best,

Bob

Bob you sure scored with this one. Man that is a beautiful piece and easily one of my favorite folders. Antonio is making knives like all fine things Italian. Without question he is making some outstanding pieces and I think this is one of his best. Must have been a heck of a trade all around to get this to you.

Congratulations, Jon

Even I own a small tortoise folding dagger by Antonio. It came to me for photos and the box went back one less member. ;)

I have an order pending with Emmanuel. THAT will be fun. Those kooky Italiano's!

Isn't it fantastic when a trade works out this way. Congrats, Bob!

These knives are both quite stunning. The Persian would have my heart out of the pair. The tortoise is perfect here. Couldn't imagine another material in the handle of this knife.

The Persian, along with every other of his knives, is simply awesome.
I have seen a couple of Antonio Fogarizzu knives in person. They're the closest thing I have ever seen to match both cathegories of "knife" and "jewel". And I'm proud of coming from the same island. He is a great example of how a knifemaker can start from the most traditional roots and make his own way to modern designs. And if I'm lucky enough, soon I might meet him in person and take a glance at his lab...
Congratulations for ur new beauty

Not really a folder collector here, but this one was just too beautiful to pass up. There's something about those A. and T. Fogarizzu folders that seems to drive me to want more. Oh, let me not forget Esposito's folders, also gorgeous.

Thanks for all the comments.

Bob
