Hello everyone! This is my first post in awhile since I've been away from home for seasonal work as a climbing guide and now that I am back home for some time I am using this free time to get some things settled in the shop so that I'm ready to get back in the game when I return in August.

My working area is a inside concreate shop floor that is fairly flat minus a few dips here and there but nothing serious.
The Anvil:

With that said I want to better my anvil stand from what I currently have right now which is just a simple tree stump that I stole from the land clearing of my neighbors property. I had never intended this stump to be a long term solution and its definitely showing me that now with the giant crack growing down the middle of the stump. I currently have a NC knifemaker that I believe is 70#. I would like a base that is mobile but I am afraid that by making this compromise I will have the dreaded base that jumps/moves around as you work since my anvil isn't exactly the heaviest guy out there to begin with.

I took a look at this thread and I like the ideas here. I specifically like options B and D and in the end it looks like he went with option B and also found a way to make it mobile which I also like. Would something like either of these two options suffice for my anvil? I'm just concerned that a wood base may not be enough weight to keep it from bouncing around and if a tripod stand bolted down to the floor is more appropriate in my situation?

I built an anvil stand out of scrap metal tubing (filled with sand), a 1/4" metal plate and some plywood. I had planned to add wheels to be able to move it around, but after I built it, I did not bother because it is fairly easy to move as it is, and I don't use the anvil all that often. I like this setup much better than the wooden stand I had before.

Nice stand! I like the idea of the tripod ones like yours. How well does it stay when your hammering on it?

I've never noticed it moving except when I hammer against the side of the anvil. I put the extra tabs on the feet of the anvil in case I would have to bolt it down, but there really has not been any need to.
