Anvil info

My father-in-law gave me an anvil for x-mas and i was wondering if anyone could give me some info on it? It has 100 on one leg and an upside down Z72 on the back curve side. here are some pictures of it:

That looks a lot like my anvil. The cast lugs on the base are indicative of Norris-Fischer? Fischer-Norris? Something like that. Mine has the matching cast iron stand with corresponding bolt lugs. Post over on anvil-Fire.com. Those guys are the anvil experts.

It was his father's anvil, but he doesnt know anything more abut it. My father-in-law is in his 70's.

It looks like a Fisher to me too. But I am no expert.I have a 300# with a eagle and anchor on the side of it.

I forgot to add a Fisher anvil doesn't ring.

It looks like my Fisher-Norris 100lb anvil, except yours does not appear to have the eagle and anchor on the side. Do a google search and you will find more on this brand of anvil.

Thanks for the info. I have looked it all over, even looked under the bottom, but cannot find anymore markings, and i do not see an eagle and anchor anywhere on it. i did notice that on the 100 it looks like there is a decimal point at 1.00

i put a couple pics of the bottom of the anvil with the other pics. This one has a high pitch ring when lightly tapped with a 2 lb hammer.

The articles that I have resd and other anvils I have seen they don't ring. I do not things it is a Fisher.
