I am new to this, can I mount my anvil on a metal stand with metal casters and not lose the stability of it? Thanks

Welcome! Disclaimer I don't do much forging. But I think depending what you are forging and how beefy the stand is maybe? It would have to be quite a stand. How big is your anvil? I think you would have more wiggle than a solid stand no matter what.

My anvil is on a metal stand with wood between the anvil and the stand. It is very heavy duty three legs for stability the wheel goes up and down with a ratchet. It seems just fine.

The problem is in the caster wheels - can't imagine them being solid enough for good forging. BUT - let's see what other folks say.

I really don’t see that working too well. If you need the ability for it to be mobile build an appropriate stand or attach to an appropriate stump and move it with a dolly when the time comes.

The easiest way would be to mount 2 wheels on 2 of the legs so they are almost touching the ground. Then removable handles on the opposite side to tip it onto the wheels then roll it like a wheel barrow.
