Anvil shooting????

I wondered how they did that. I have seen this done, but not sure how they did it.

Oh crap, if you can lose a finger from fireworks....

You could put your eye out too.

My dad used to tell me about what he did when he was a kid (Around 1920) He didn't use black powder though. He used dynamite. He lived near a railroad yard and there were always boxes of dynamite, caps and fuse laying around. He said that half a stick would send a boxcar wheel 50 feet in the air.

Dang! We don't get have any fun these days.:(

That is really interesting. Its amazing just how far that anvil went into the air and how deep it went into the ground.....just cool.

He lives near North Fort Hood in Gatesville!!! I drove buy and saw the anvil sign on an old barn/shed with a coal forge out front of it. He won't sell them (I tried). He has ring anvils, regular anvils, bridge anvils, little giants (a few of those).

If you head north on the highway its about 2 miles past the bridge on the highway that cuts through part of North Fort Hood Military Reservation. His place is on the right side of the road.
I can't remember the highway it sits on.

I like the wife's deadpan quote:

"The men get very excited about it. The women kinda laugh."

Very cool stuff.
