As we know, the Anvil was the 2002 100 year tang stamp symbol.
But then Buck went on using the Anvil on some custom knives after that as well as the Designers Choice custom shop stamping.

So now knives with an Anvil and designers choice are showing up on ebay as a 2002 year knife.

So question is, whats the earliest we can date Designers Choice on the off side tang stamp??

I have a 110 that says Buck Custom USA on one side, Designers Choice on the other side, with BG42 on the blade. Invoice date of 2005 is the only way I can date this one.

I still say that a year code on the tang stamp is a good thang. Otherwise, either unscrupulous or un informed sellers are and will be passing off newer knives as older or vintage.

I know what you mean Larry!!! I like a date code on my blades as well. But, just because the blade has a born on date is not always an indication of the knife born on date. Some times a new knife gets built with an older blade:eek::confused::(. Just consider this to be one of the many mysteries in life...LOL

"One a month is all we ask"....oh hell Larry buy two or three this month...I double dog dare ya;):p.

I'm back on the wagon. Buck Anon is helping.

Yeah, Buck could use older blades sometimes, but thats not really what I am talking about, and I don't think we have seen that vary by much.

Just ticks me to see to see a supposedly seasoned Buck seller, mis advertising a custom. and I believe he has a couple of them listed. And no, I just don't even feel like bringing it up to him.

Now get out your papers and see when you can date the earliest Designers Choice customs! :p

Headed out to get checked for limes..
