C.S. Graves asked on another thread...
And this was my reply...
And that's the situation I am in right now. My physical therapist, Melanie, retested my leg strength and flexion this morning and I am much improved from 30 days of intensive rehab but still have a long way to go.
Right now I am as far as I can go with land exercises, except to continue with what I am doing and increasing the amount of repetition so as to keep building what strength and as well as increasing my flexion and endurance as best I can.
I start back in the therapy pool next week with assisted supervision to see if I can even handle the exertion. In the pool is not a problem, it's the results of the exertion on my body when I get out.
When first entering the 4'3" deep pool that's heated to more than usual it's the same as losing 75% of your body weight, which feels really good of course and you don't realize the amount of exertion you're putting on your body until you get out.
And then it feels like you weigh 5 times your body weight and it's simply hard to move, let alone walk!

If I can handle the water therapy then we can address the stamina problem I have with my legs that we can't do on land now because of my arms.
My *Anxiety* is about tomorrow when we go early in the morning to see my neurologist to hopefully find out what exactly is wrong with my upper appendages and I am indeed very anxious about his findings and hopefully we will walk out knowing just what *IS* wrong.
My biggest fear right now is that it won't be fixable back to the way I have always been up until this happened. And it scares the crap outta me that it won't be and I will be permanently dependent on someone to do the simple things I used to do for myself!!!!
:grumpy:
I am hoping it is just a simple case of carpal tunnel syndrome and that it can be fixed with a few steroid injections instead of surgery but if surgery is what it takes and it isn't permanent I will be very happy, very happy indeed!

Can we assume by your increased frequency of posts that your arms are feeling better?
And this was my reply...
Yvsa said:Thanks, but not really C.S. Right now I am in one helluva shape and if I fall and manage to get all the way to the floor I'm pretty much toast unless there is someone around to help me get up.![]()

Actually I was getting ready to start a new thread as soon as I finished reading the forum.
