Has Kershaw put anything out with Sandvik's 19C27? 12C27N never held an edge like I'd like, 13C26 and 14C28N were an improvement and nearly on the same level as VG-10 in my experience, but I haven't been able to find any non-custom folders in 19C27N. I'd like to compare it to some stuff that outperforms the other Sandviks/VG-10 level steels like S30V or D2 or CPM-154.

I was in France recently and picked up a Perceval L-08 folder with that Sanvik, but unfortunately I can't tell you much about the steel. The knife is more of a collection piece and souvenir, much to pretty to use heavily.

I think they released a exclusive leek with that steel, 1660C27. I believe it better resists corrosion but doesnt hold an edge when compared to 14C28N

Hm, I guess they went another route than I had hoped. I'd definitely still like to try it out, thanks for the info on the 1660C27

Edit: I think the 1660C27 used 12C27, not 19C27.

According to a thread here its 7C27Mo2. I got the C27 part right at least

Correct, they did a run of the black and olive Leeks in 7C27MO2, for the stain resistance. Not the best edge retention though...

I asked about this in the 14C28N thread about 4 or so years ago. At that time Thomas said that they would not be using it because it wasn't "fine blankable" and that it would have to be cut with laser. Also he said that it would be a downgrade to 154cm or S30V so it would be kind of pointless.

The old Lone Wolf Knives did make a model or two with it though. I know some of the "Paul" models used 19C27.
