Any 943 users in the house?

I've got a 943 headed my way. I'm into lighter weight EDC's lately but want something with a good handle length (around 4 inches). I've had a 943 in the past but I didn't give it much of a chance due to already having a 940.

I don't have one, but plan on getting one someday. Very nice blade shape on that one. Congrats!

It's a nice lightweight edc that I always keep around regularly with the 940's. I even had DOAT's g10 grip made for it which I enjoy even more...

Here.

I have not had it for very long, but I like it. The blade shape and the blue anodized backspacer are very attractive features on the 943. However, mine came with the worst edge I've ever seen on a new knife. There was actually a large burr still raised on one side of the edge. Still is - I haven't gotten around to fixing it yet - so I've only carried it a couple of times. But I do like how it carries.

Congrats! I'm in the club, it's a great design. (The pointy tip can be useful, not to mention better looking than the 940 in my view.)

And that's a bummer about JarrodS's edge - my 943 actually came sharpened perfectly - and I truly mean perfect (I've not always gotten than from Benchmade!).

Thanks for the posts guys. I have always liked the way that the 943 looked but I never gave it a chance due to everyone preferring and recommending the reverse tanto of the 940.

Actually. I prefer the visual appeal of the clip point 943 blade more than the 940's reverse Tanto.

It is a more traditional blade shape IMHO, and has wickedly sharp point. The reverse Tanto however I have found is more sheeple-friendly and is is generally more well received by the general public in my experience. I think that is also a function of the 943's black handle finish which gives it a more tactical look than the 940's 'playful' green handles.Even though both knives are the exact same size (even the cutting edge profile is exactly the same - only the shape of the spine differs), the 943 appears more intimidating than the 940.

But then, maybe you should just do what I did, buy both... ;)

I exchanged my 940 for the 943. I'm the minority I know, but I enjoy the super sleek profile of the 943. It is an amazing slicer, pierces better and is the best apple cutter. Here is mine...

10+ years I have had a 943 in my front right pocket and I can't imagine a better EDC on the market. The 94x series are true Benchmade classics

I have both the 940 and 943. I definitely prefer the 943. The fine point on the 943 is just more useful to me as well as better looking in my opinion.

I also prefer the 943, but all of the 940/943 stuff is interchangeable. The Carbon fiber models weigh in at 72gm. The Aluminum at 82gm. The Titanium at 92gm. My favorite 94X EDC is the 943 blade in a C/F handle. I just wish they offered a 943 blade in S-90-V.

I also like the 943/941 better than the 940.

even with the serrations.

I have been trying to convince myself I need to pick up a 943. I have a 940 that gets pocket time. Just haven't found a good reason to add a similar model. But I do also love the looks of thr 943

I am very happy that I finally picked one of these up. Lightweight, excellent blade length, very comfortable to hold. Throw a deep-carry clip on there and it just disappears into the pocket!

Been my primary "work" knife for a year and a half. Thin, light and not too small for my big mitts.
Like many of you, I prefer the tip on the 943 to the 940. And I prefer the black/blue combo a great deal more than green/purple.
