Hi guys, i am currently buying some gold kitano knifes it's from japaneseknifescompany in paris and the knife that i bought its 60:62 HRC and i just realized that the stone that i buy it's designed for 64:66 HRC steel but the staff reccomended that stone for me. So is it safe for me to sharpening my knife with that or is it risky that it might broke my knife?

The stone is intended for knives UP TO 64-66 HRC, according the to company web page. Should be fine with your knife.

The only time there would be a problem is the reverse situation if a stone is meant for a knife from the Rc 60-62 range and you've got a knife that's Rc 64-66.

I am no expert of bench stones. The stone seems to be a multi-grit combination stone of #800 and #5,000. Would the OP need a stone in between like #2,000?

FYI, diamond stones do poorly on Japanese knives. They leave the edge very ragged and is the reason they are not recommended.

I always recommend Japanese water stones as bench stones. They cut quickly and require only water for lubrication. Look for grits of 200 (coarse), 1000(medium) and 6000(finishing.)
