...to get the breakaway chain back into the hollow piece of paracord that comes with the Ronin?!?!?

If I can't fix it, I guess that I'll just contact SFO about getting another one....

Sounds like you'll have to put some sort of lead on it and thread it through. The first thing that came to my mind was to take the cotton off a Q-Tip, tape it to the chain, and pull it through. (I've no idea why a cottonless Q-Tip was the first thing to come up; any smooth, thin object should work.)

Hemostats

It works to re-thread the string for sweatpants... just thread the black cord over the tip of the hemostat (needlenose like plier tool) grab the chain and pull through....it might work.

Something like the small-gauge coat-hanger wire that comes from the drycleaners, straightened, should pass through the hollow paracord. Pass it through, super-glue an end-ball to the wire and pull the chain through.

I simply use a plain paracord necklace, square-knotted (Beck Necker). I notice no irritation from the knot at all.

I think the idea of using the chain is that it will break if someone grabs it and tries to choke you with it where the paracord will not break.

Mr. Lifter's spot-on. :) If I wore a chain, I'd want it to break-away at a certain level of force.

As for the original question, you can also try to slowly "walk" each bead into the paracord "sheath." This'll take some time and a bit of fine-motor dexterity, but if you don't mind occupying your hands while you're watching TV, it's definitely possible.

:)

Best of luck !
