Any Alternatives to Photbucket??

Okay, the problems I'm having on Photobucket maybe be user error. Since the new changes to Photobucket (the free Photobucket account), it has become a real burden to use their site. So much so that I cringe each time I think about using it. It has become slower and much more burdensome to do anything with the pictures I have on their site.

I know there was at least one other photo account that some users have success with here on Blade Forums, but are there others?? Others that are quickly responsive to tasks and not a complete pain to use like Photobucket has become??

I did google this and see there are alternatives, but I was hoping someone might already have "tested" another photo site and have a better option that they are using here on Blade Forums or any other forum they belong to.

I did try Flicker, but that site is through Yahoo and I kept getting rejected when I tried signing up to Yahoo again. I had an account there but it has vanished.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Okay....still doing research and some folks say Imgur is a good site. This is a practice photo. It was easy to upload and simple to copy the link and post here on Blade Forums. Anyone use this site?? Good or bad points??

I'm sure your own ISP gives you a certain amount of storage space on the server.
That's where I host all of my pix.

imgur.com is great...been using that for a few months now...

once photo is uploaded, it even gives an option for the size of the photo you want to post (full, large thumbnail, small), a variety of links are provided when you click on your uploaded photo, just pick the one for Message Boards & Forums ... and copy paste it to your post...
Also, when you click on your uploaded photos, it shows how many times it has been viewed...
very simple to use, and mobile friendly...

A test from postimage, the site JK sent me...........

windows screen capture

This site looks promising. I checked out more about Imgur and see that if a photo isn't looked at at least once in six months that it will be deleted. That won't work for me and there would be lots of empty images on Blade Forums six months from now.

I'll take them!!!! Where do I send payment:D
The photos look great, and I'll follow your thread, as Pbucket has become a burden for me as well

Some folks have my email, so no need to clog up this thread but I would be interested in hearing your PB problems......I may be screwed up and not know it........300

Imageshack used to be another one.

I am not having any issues with PB.
Just a slight learning curve

I like the drag and drop feature.

I use pb too with no issues. Does take a long time to upload high res images to the site but apart from that does its job.

The only one I would stay away from is flickr. I see more issues with folks trying to post images from that one than any of the others.

Personally, I still use photobucket because that's where all my stuff is. It may be that I have no problems because I always post from a computer and not a phone.

I use photobucket, upload straight from my phone using an app, and upload when connected to wifi or when I have a 4g connection.
One thing to remember is eventually you can reach a limit within a library, so just make another library and proceed to fill it up too.

An update;

Okay, I tried a couple alternative sites recommended here by others....thanks!!

They all worked, but they all have flaws, so I went back to my Photobucket and decided to start deleting some pictures. I was 97% full of my allowable space on that site. I have a feeling that was the main reason Photobucket was working so sluggish for me.

Well, after deleting about 50 photos I got to thinking that I was also deleting any photos previously posted on Blade Forums, so I stopped.

I have another email address that I hardly ever use, so I went there and opened a new Photobucket account. I used that one for today's SPS and I have the speed back on Photobucket that I used to have and I can still use their site as a free site. I'll take a few commercial ads from Photobucket while I'm uploading photos to keep it free. :)

Problem solved for now.............

My friend, does just starting sub-accounts in your old PB one not work the same as a whole new account. I did that the other day, putting knives in one, knife show pics and travel in another. If that does not do the same, I may have to eventually do something else. I have also become very "stingy" in my photo posting. which has cut down some. Perhaps we need some discussions on 'editing" and precise telling of the story.....ha

I store junk not published online or shared on my external hard drive.

I did have sub-albums...probably about ten of them.

My new acct works great, but my old nearly full acct is frustratingly slow.

I am happy for you overcoming the Photobucket debacle. Man-O-man you have some terrific photos.

I had the same gut-wrenching problem: Free account filled to the brim so further usage was out of the question. I am using ImageShack now (free still). Active wildlife photographers I know, Bjorn Frederickson for example, use paid accounts with their photograph hosts and backup their photos offsite and onsite with triple redundancy (multiple drives).

I do save most of my photos on external storage. I started that a few years back when my computer pretty much reached its limit. I moved over 20,000 photos back then. :)
