I love recurves personally That is what I grew up using as a kid and even into my early mid 20s I can still shoot one and any time I’m feeling a little out of balance break it out and get back to basics. Though I admit the 80% + let off is nice to hold.

Yep but mine don't have training wheels.......;)

Same here- mine doesn't have training wheels. I have a Hoyt Takedown II that I bought in college. In college we shot NAA and FITA style. I did some NFAA with my recurve then had a couple of those funny-bows. Now all I have is the recurve, and wish I had time and a place to shoot it.

I've had that bow for about 25 years now. Its a 56" Great Northern Longbow Company Critter Gitter Special, osage orange wood with the jack knife option, which means it hinges in the center and folds in half for storage. Except for the glove I made all my shooting gear - arrows, leathers, strings etc.

I have had a few recurves over the years and hope to get another( or a longbow) soon, as I sold my last one four or so years ago. I used to be able to pick em up cheap around here at garage sales and flea markets, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. Buying a new setup is not in the budget right now, and will not be for a while, so I am just keeping my eyes peeled for a deal!
