I was looking at prybabies and came across a web site for peter atwood, and started drooling at some of his knives. Does anyone own one and what do you think? also is the quality on par with a sebenza?

I used to own a SOLAR ARC. Peter makes fewer knives, but they're all excellent superb pieces. The pins / standoffs are not as big as the sebenza, and the SOLAR ARC had thinner scales than the sebbie, but by golly, the snakeskin texture and rainbow anodizing was out of the world. The knife was sharp as sin, great lock-up, zero bladeplay, great fit and finish etc. The only thing is that you can't disassemble it like a sebbie.

So it's up to you - are you looking for a different and fancy knife, or, do you want simple utilitarian beauty like in a sebbie?

BTW, having an atwood is wonderful also because Peter is such a great, friendly guy.

I've got one of his large folders.....it has the silver quilted scales. Big knife and very nicely done. I can't upload images. sorry.

I've got three of Peter's knives. Got the prototype Solar Arc, his first small damascus Arc, and the Reptilian Arc he has on his logo. Great knives all of them. I also have a small B Sting that he and I are working on, on the way...

As too Peter's quality, he's gotten really good over the last year. On Par with a Reeve, almost but not quite. Peter's not a machienist with CNC mills and such. But as a self-taught maker he's really good, and his fit and finish is great.

If you want a custom knife with things the way you want them I'd go with one of Peter's knives. I feel the Solar Arcs feel much better in the hand that a Sebenza.

Brian's just biased because he wants me to get going on his BeeSting! :P :D

Thanks for the kind words guys! :)
