Just got a BIBB (thanks 1bluedog).

Has anyone out there actually used their BIBB?

Care to post comments and impressions?

I have not used mine for years, but I do remember that it keeps your shirts clean when eating.

Oops, wrong bib I guess... :-)

Hmm--should of realized what kind of replies I might get in a place like this:D

Nice porpoise!

I have a pair of BIBBs
I remember Ban had reground one some time ago and beat it up..compared it to a FBM . The BIBB was half the weight and only needed around 10 extra chops to match the FBM..
After holding this blade it seems like it is more suited as being a fighter..but can still hold it's own as a chopper..
The BIBB is something special, It's a keeper... only 48 made...

I saw the picture of Ban's--awesome.

I'd like to keep this as a user, in the lightweight chopper niche. Seems like it could be a nice compact general purpose/vegetation hacking blade.

Can't wait to see it after it gets back from the spa!

Do you know what you are having done yet?

No question about that..

In general it seems that the BIBB is a bit underrated..
You never really hear much about it..

I believe there were around 10 of them with a polished spine..
only offered at a paticular blade show...

I have used my BIBB quite a bit before and after my mods. It is a very good chopper for its weight mainly because of the ability to choke really far back on the handle for extra leverage.

My BIBB is now Anorexic because it has been put on a diet. It is my ideal camp knife and can do everything from food prep to chopping up 2X4s.

Ban--thanks for the info. I noticed that the handle shape is such that the grip is comfortable and secure to the very end. The Baned BIBB sure looks like a lean mean cutting machine:D

Uncle Jarvis--mods sounds very cool. Green linen--I like it!
