Just so ya know there are two Sher's, there is Sher the tiger and young Sher. Both make very nice khuks but Sher the tiger makes better IMHO.

Tibetan Long Sword

Here's Sher himself holding some of his swords:

18" 37 oz AK

This was too much blade for me, I had to give her up. She was a beauty though. The satisal handle was so dark it looked like ebony.

I haven't seen any blades by Young Sher for a while. Does anyone know if he is still making knives for HI?

I got a beautiful Katana that he made a couple of years ago. OAL 36", weight 36 oz. The guard is steel and the handle is Koa, which as some of you know is one of the best kinds of wood out there. This photo shows how it came to me. I spent some time on the handle, which now looks and feels like polished brass.

Then there's this 29" 40 oz Tarwar from about 3 years ago, with a steel guard and an unusual handle that looks great but can tear your hand up if you don't wear gloves. It gives new meaning to the word "grippy."

I just got an old Sher Chainpure in the mail yesterday... 21.5" and 25.5 ounces!

I'll post some pictures later.

I snatched it up as soon as I saw the S.B. mark, and besides, squirrels are my people!
