Any Bladesmiths in Sacramento Area?

I'm hoping to connect with another bladesmith in the Sacramento area. I recently got into bladesmithing as a hobby and was wondering if there was anyone I could come watch or help out on occasion to learn some tricks of the trade.

I live in Santa Rosa but I'm a beginner like you; I'm still putting together my tools right now. I'm hoping to have all the stuff I need to get serious by the end of autumn... until then I'm trying to get all of my other projects done so I'll have more time to devote to blades when I get to that point.

Dan Pfanenstiel lives in the Modesto area. I'm not sure how far that is from either of you. You should be able to get hold of him threw Don Fogg's "Bladesmith forum".

Sounds like a plan. Like I said before I don't have a whole lot of experience but we might be able to learn something from each other. I was hoping to have a 'shop' together by now but it keeps getting pushed back. I'll look up this post and let you know when I get there.

Sounds great!! Let me know if you're ever in the Sacramento area. I have a small forge and some other tools set up in my garage. I'm usually doing something three nights a week or so.
