Any body ever traded their Sebbie for "several others"

I love seeing these posts on the trade forums where someone wants to trade three, four, or even five "other" knives for a Sebenza. You know a bunch of $40 -$140 knives for one Sebbie. Has anyone ever done this? The first thing I say when I see one of those posts is "not gonna happen."

First of all if you have a Sebenza, you don't need others. Secondly, if you are trading away one you are most likely trading up. So come on, has anyone ever fell for one of these "bunch o' knives" for a Sebbie trades. If you have, shame...shame and I bet you regretted it later.

Not me. I'm trading my Large I bought used for a Small with my name engraved. After 2 years collecting knives, I have settled on smaller blades, 3" or so as most practical. For bigger duties, fixed blades are called for.
There are many things I regreted trading off, my small Sebbie won't be on that list
The Sebenza is a perfected design, timeless simple elegance,

Some folks might flame you a bit for calling 5 BM's trash:eek:  , of course I've never seen a Bowel Movement that didn't turn out to be.....................well trash of some sort!;) ;) :footinmou

Only kidding BM fans............it's just that every time I see Benchmade referred to as BM, well you see what I think!

i think you got it wrong i wasn't referring to BM when i was talking about trash knives, cause as you can see from my sig that im a BM fan, i was referring to the little cheapie knives

i traded my slightly used large regular sebenza for an all black Emerson Commander, an all black microtech UDT, and a CRKT M16-14M...

do i regret it? i dont regret trading my Sebenza since it didn't do too much for me...but i do regret not trading up instead of down...

i ended up trading the UDT and some money for a Busse Natural Outlaw that i love, and selling the M16 for way more than its worth...and the Commander will remain in my EDC rotation for a long time...

I should have taken an offer to trade the sebbie with some money for an Ultratech or a nice custom...

The Sebenza just didn't do a whole lot for me...its really just too plain for my tastes...it is a wonderful knife that is built to last, just wasn't my style...

I traded the most Beautiful Unique Graphic Large Sebbie I have ever seen for a few Benchmades.
Was it a good deal, well I came out on the losing end $$$ wise, but that knife was too pretty for me to use, one of the knives I got in exchange was my BM710HS, which has become one of my favorite knives. I'd rather have knives I'd use than drawer queens.

Jeez, do I miss that knife though :(

I recently posted my new Sebenza up for trade, just to see what I could get. I was VERY tempted by several offers of multiple knives. I finally came to my senses, and withdrew my knife from the trade forum, but SHEESH there were some SWEET offers. People really want these knives:D:D:D. I'm really glad that I decided to keep it, though. The only thing I would dream of trading it for, now, is a custom. I actually made an offer on a DDR Apogee Illusion:eek: That would be a worthy trade up, if you ask me...Of course I would be including additional funds, and/or knives.

A couple years ago I traded a bunch of knives for a large and small Sebenzas. Like an idiot, I sold them both a while later. I traded a bunch of new Spydercos (two Civilians, a Tuffram Worker), a bunch of Cold Steel Voyagers, an Allen Blade neck knife, a CRKT Seahawk, maybe a few others too. I can't remember now. My stuff was worth more cash, but I was impressed with those Sebenzas. I had another small and sold it. Now I have a large plain. I traded a custom folder for it and I got the better end of that deal, quality-wise. I hope to get another small and/or a Mnandi sometime. For now, the large will "hold me over". I agree, never trade down, big mistake. I'd rather have the cash and buy something I want. The only knives I own are the Sebenza and a Ralph Medium EDC. Both excellent. All those other knives (and I've owned most of them) can go to someone else.
