just wanted to know if anyone has experience with these rifles. I have a mark3 enfield .303 and havent been able to go to a range to test it since the local range is indoor so they wont let me use such a powerful round. Just wanted to hear from others about how it is?

Hi Nismo
I have an Enfield number 4 in .303" Just got back from a weekend at Bisley camp, competing with it. I love these rifles and in the right hands they can shoot really well. I especially enjoy the rapid fire competitions - one minute to fire as many aimed shots to score. That sorts the men from the boys....................:)

I'll tell you what rule we applied sir, we applied rule .303. We caught them, and we shot them, under rule 3-0-3!

I don't have one myself but some of the guys in the local gun club have them. They always work. It's often been said that in WWI the Americans had the best hunting rifle, the Germans had the best target rifle, but the British had the best battle rifle! :D

Here in Las Vegas we have a monthly VMBAR ( Vintage Military Bolt Action Rilfe ) match. Being a newbie to rifle shooting , shot pistols & subguns for years though....shooting at targets at 400 yards with Iron Sighted Enfields and Mausers is a blast.
There is a large VMBAR match in November here , I have not decided to shoot the Enfield or the Mauser 98/22 .

Around here 303 surplus ammo is hard to find , while I can get 2100 rounds of surplus 8mm for $105 from J & G in Arizona ( plus shipping of course , though I usually drive down to get it and grab another Mauser while I am there ;) )

I have 4. Two No 4 Mk II both from Fazakerly, a Lithgow No 1 Mk III*, and an Ishapore 410 shotgun.

I believe the Lithgow is a true unissued rifle, but I have a hard time getting people to believe that it is not a parts gun of recent manufacture. I bought it in 1991. If I remember correctly it is marked "IA CO" which must mean that it came from the lot that was sold by a Sacramento firm in the late 80s.
