In my continuing review of the Busse line of knives, I came across the pic's and some spec's of the Busse Nuclear Air Rescue Knife (NARK).

What I really liked from the pic's / spec's was the 5" blade, shorter overall length, thinner (.18"?) steel and serrations on the rearward spine of the blade (as opposed to the cutting-edge surface)....

Was this a low production-volume Busse model? Where would be the best place to locate one?

Thanks much, guys!

Thats a HOT!!! knife, third on my list behind TB and MRS. As far as I know that came out a while ago ( 2004-2005 ) and I believe, if I read the Busse info right, they rerelease knives about every three of four years. I could be wrong there are much smarter people on here then me ( I'm not even a piglet.....yet.). You might want to try the "wanted to buy forum" also. That would be a great one for your son if that's what this is for. E-bay I think has a notify me option also. Not sure what they are going for these days? Good luck.

Thanks for the info, Tankerwolf!

Yes, it would be for my son!

These came out at the Company Store in very limited quantities. Per my feeble memory, there were four different handle colors with a limited number of six of each configuration available. Twentyfour total. Skunk would know for sure.

Hard to believe now, but these hung around on the Store for several weeks before they were all sold. Today they wouldn't last ten minutes.

Mine is satin/black canvas.

No problem. Just so you know I wasn't trying to be mean in the other post. My dad got me a Randall SF #16 for my graduation from OSUT. I never used or needed it while deployed ( mostly used the multi tool ) but got plenty of use in FTX and OP missions. Good luck tracking one down.

Here's a pic of two
satin/blk paper & satin/green linen

Don't get me worng, I love my NARK. But for a heavy combat user, I think the BATAC is a better choice. The blades are of similar size, only thicker. And they are pretty easy to find. The NARKs are rather scarce.

A step in the larger direction would be the Force One. It is like a NARK on steroids. The band breaker isn't serrated, but I don't think it would take much to put them on there.
