I just saw that this knife existed today and it looks like I may have missed the party. Does anyone still have any of these in stock? Does anyone have any pics of the "peel ply" handles? From the pictures I've seen it's hard to tell they are carbon fiber and not just G10. Thanks in advance for any info!

No one will have any in stock as they were sold out months before they were even made, the only place to get them is on the exchange and ebay for around $300, the peel ply does look like carbon fiber but as the same texture/grippiness of g10, though it doesn't look like the carbon fiber of say the smooth gayle bradley.

The carbon fiber looks and feels great in person and it was one of those knives I just had to have. I lucked out on this one.......

The Para 2 is an instant legend in many minds, including mine. I won an auction and shelled out $280 for one and I think it's well worth it. Carbon fiber and S90V...Come on! Does it get any better than that? Get one while you can.

I don't think you'll regret shelling out some clams in return for a gem.

It seems like most of the popular dealers took too many pre-orders with this model, but there was at least one that got a bunch and sold them normally on the website (which took just under 24 hours).
If you've got to have the carbon fiber scales, it might be possible to get some custom scales for a regular Para 2. It would be difficult since you have nearly full liners that are nested, but this isn't the first model with nested liners to get custom scales.
If it's the high end steel you're after, then there is a CTS-20CP (similar to S90V) run set to come out sometime this year. That one will have grey G-10 scales, and should cost a lot less than the S90V model.

Country knives still shows some stock and so does Bento box shop, might be worth a call, both are $300.00 just depends on how bad you want one and if they still have them. Country knives usually keeps the website up to date in my experience.

FWIW, peel-ply CF is really only very hard to tell from peel-ply G-10 in photographs. In person, unless you're in a fairly dark room, the CF pattern is quite visible.

$300 is way too rich for my blood. It's probably that high because of the S90V, but for me plain old S30V would be sufficient. I guess I'll have to keep my fingers crossed for a production version or a less fancy sprint run with carbon fiber.

I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. They haven't made any more Manix 2's or Military's in carbon fiber since the first time.

There will be other sprint runs with different colors of G-10, which I love, but I highly doubt they'll do carbon fiber in the Para 2 again.

I'm sure they'll do something special when the Millie 2 comes out.

Odd, I distinctly remember an CF/S30V Military, a CF/BG-42 Military, and a CF/S90V Military. As for the Manix 2, the fact it hasn't happened yet does not mean it will not happen. I'd sooner bet that whatever steel becomes the next "must have super steel flavor of the month" will get paired with CF in all three of those models.
