Any chance of the Straight Handle series being produced again?

I hope this question hasn't been run through the ringer. An AGNTSA thread as some would call it. I did a search and found a thread on the same question in 2000 and there seem to be alot of interest. I would love to have a new SHBA or any of the Busses new in a SH. Will it ever happen?

Its not likely, I don't think Busse ever goes back to retired designs for production. Every so often when he cleans (very rarely) old pieces pop up for sale.

Booooooooooooooooooo

PS. Don't tell the new series I said that, I have love for them too.

i don't think so, that's a good thing too, it protects the investment of your busse knife.
most busse's increase in value whether used or new.
makes for a healthy secondary market, good for you when you trade up for a new one.
good for collectors so they can enjoy there collection and count on it being worth more if they have to let go of it or their interests change.

good deal

It's not gonna happen, for the reasons Skunk stated. Jerry has plainly stated several times here and elsewhere that he's not going to do that, and he's never changed his mind on it. When I first read his statements regarding this (around the time he introduced the Ergo handles and discontinued the straights), I was disappointed, but now I'm glad he has that policy, and that he sticks to his guns on it. I have a lot of money (more than some, not as much as others) invested in older discontinued models, and reintroducing them into the current line would flood the market with them and adversely affect the values of my knives significantly.

Relax. It's still the same INFI. A few years and a few dozen Busses later and you'll feel the same way. It's all good.

Yeah, I thought about the whole investment thing for the owners of originals before I asked the Question. I was just being Selfish.
