Any chance we'll ever see a mini, mini-griptilian?

I may catch some flack for this, but I sometimes wish my mini grip was about 20% smaller/thinner, etc. Is there any chance Benchmade will make a smaller version of one of their most popular knives? If they did there'd then be a small, medium, and large, to choose from. Of course I'd want all 3. :)

I've never thought about it before, as the regular Griptilian suits my needs. However, a smaller version of the smaller version is intriguing.

I'm digging idea of a micro-Grip. I'd buy one or three. I carry a mini more often than the Large but could see a micro being quite useful.

On the opposite side, I've always found the Mini 556 to be too small. But there are some times when having just a bit of real blade, instead of one of those cheapo box cutters would/could make a difference. ...and after all, the Grips are one of the mainstays of Benchmade's offerings. Then again, we've had Forum knives made that came from a ton of badgering. So If we want one of them as a micro, make yerselves heard!

Hmm. I always thought the mini grip was pretty small. How much smaller are we talking?

I would also love a mid grip in between small and large say around 3.25 inches

Scale down to a 2.5" blade. Would make for a lovely little watch pocket knife that should double nicely as a fidget toy with an axis lock. It would also comply with even the most ridiculous blade size restrictions.

I'd buy one... or 4.

Maybe 16-20% smaller. Just a similar percentage step down as from the Grip to Mini Grip.

Put me down for two! Would love a smaller size, very rarely use the full blade anyway. Would also help around the office anti knife crowd.

Seems trinkety or a novelty to me. I do like large knives 3.75"-4.25" in a folder and fixed blade, but this would be a pretty expensive buy.

Spyderco's Dragonfly is pretty popular.

I wouldn't mind a Grip around that size if the price was scaled down somewhat as well. :)

Indeed. I've owned several Dflys and still have one or two. They don't really get much use. The funny thing is that the Dfly has the same cutting edge length as the Ladybug, and that is a tiny knife. The popularity may be attributed to the overall design and the various steels and edges (fully serrated and plain) that have been available, If there is a market for something, someone will make something to fill the need.

I think it might work, but that specific market niche is already loaded with competition from almost every maker out there (Spyderco, Kershaw, Victorinox, Boker, Gerber, SOG, Cold Steel, etc.). I understand that not every likes large knives or can carry them in their respective area. Thing is if a new knife is made, that usually means that the manufacturer has to bump something else in order to make room in their production schedule for it. With that said, I'd like to see one and the final price. If it's something I can use and the price is reasonable, I'd buy one.

I could be down for one of those as well. As it is I carry a mini-Grip more often than the large but a mid- .... now that would be better than a micro- .

I retract my previous statement in favor of a micro- . I want mid- .
