I've seen some suspicious activity on the used market. By chance has anyone had their CRK collection stolen? Pls PM me if you have been victimized.

Best regards,

Fooj

i lost a unique lge reg in washington d.c. last march. actually, i think i dropped it in a taxi.

i check around periodically, but no luck. :(

I'd like a little more info please.

I am a noob here. Just purchased two CR knives from two different folks from this board yesterday. Would like to know what to look for in the future.

Was this somewhere else?

You can email me if you are trying not to announce this to the world.

You should elaborate more on your comment...Insinuating that stolen knives maybe for sale is some serious stuff.

But it isn't as he is blaming anyone or pointing any fingers. He is just asking if anyone has had their CRK collection stolen. Seems like he has provided enough information to me. If you haven't had your collection stolen just move on.

No, that is just it he is not blaming anyone specifically but a statement like that on this board is like opening a Pandora’s box. What does he deem suspicious activity, by whose standards his, is he taking into account the econ. is in the crapper and people are getting crushed so knives may be being sold by financially motivated sellers. Maybe someone died and someone inherited a bunch of knives and they either don't like knives, or need the money. There is a million and one different things that could be going on and this guy just comes out with this blanket statement planting suspicion and doubt about no one in particular, no everyone involved in the CRK secondary market now. He gives so little background info it now brings everyone involved in the secondary market for CRK into question. Here is another question how long has this guy been following the secondary market for CRK knives and how detailed or his observations, his analysis of the research he has undertaken during his secondary market CRK research, etc. This kind of statement with so little info is irresponsible. Is this guy a dealer or just a buyer or just someone who has a couple of CRK knives and occasionally sees what for sale here, or here and EBAY or here, EBAY and one other place, but not others. I could go, but I hope you get the point. If anyone feels victimized by this email please call their nearest ACLU office and consider legal action. Give me a break. I don’t even own a CRK knife nor am I dealer or a paying member here who could sell knives on this forum. If this individual is trying to help people and has some facts not just his personal hunches then let it rip if not don't post like which has the potential to create a chaos in the secondary market for CRK knvies.

How is this question irresponsible? How is this opening a can of worms? If nobody here has had their collection stolen how does this cause a problem in this community? If he saw the local store all of a sudden get flooded with CRK knives I might ask the same thing.

"This Guy" is not only one of the foremost and long-time collectors of CRK in the world, he is also an active member of the company.

Langley put it best,if it doesn't concern you then move on.

Just FYI, I sold off several LE wood inlays in the past month or so.

I will say there are several sebenzas on the bay under different sellers that have similar pictures.

First off...if he posted in this forum it concerns everyone that reads it !!

By him saying secondary market..he could be referring to this forum !!

He is also talking about stolen knives !!

All i asked is that he elaborate so that like my self..folks don't misconstrue his post as meaning that stolen knives are being sold on this forum.

You state that he is a "active member of the company" are you saying that he works for Chris Reeve Knives ?

If you what to speak on open forum in code and then bash other member's for asking legit question's that maybe you and your secret society should communicate in PM's.;)

I still don't understand why you want/need for him to elaborate? What info are you wanting/needing? I don't see how someone can misconstrue his post as meaning stolen knives are being sold on this forum. I'm assuming he has seen something and just wanted to make sure nobody here has had their collection stolen. IMO that is a great member of this community who is looking out for it's members.

This is pretty interesting, I too would like a little bit of elaboration on the suspicious activity. Perhaps through PM or In the CRK Lounge. That's what it was made for, CRK discussions with no "outside" interference.

I look forward to hearing more on this, J.

I wouldn't ask if I understood. So again............I still don't understand why you want/need for him to elaborate? What info are you wanting/needing?

Not to speak for bigmark, but I mentioned that I would appreciate elaboration on the suspicious activity. Whether through PM's for the sake of not giving away information, here, or at the CRK Lounge for a bit less of a crowd.

As a dealer it would be nice to know what to look for. Anything could be suspicous, some random person starts selling multiples of "used" CRK's or a non authorized person has a bulk of Sebenza's floating around, stuff like that would be nice to know.

Suspicious activity could be a handful of CRK's showing up on craigslist for a crazy low price or local pawn shop ending up with a rather nice collection of them.

These situations could be something or nothing at all and applaud Fooj for at least being proactive enough to check on the forums to see if anyone had their collection stolen. I also don't see how any other information is needed to be posted publicly. If you have had your knife collection stolen then I would contact Fooj and see what info he has........if you haven't had your collection stolen then enjoy them.

Ohh well in the end I'm done here. I've had no knives go missing and hope this doesn't turn out as someone having their collection lost. If so I hope they get their knives back!

Post number 11 sums it up....at this point you have 14 posts on this forum and about 4 in this thread....my post is not directed at you and at this point i must consider you trolling. :jerkit:

The underlined part is what I'm talking about. Perhaps we should wait for Fooj to answer back if he chooses before we rip each other new ones trying to figure out who is right and wrong.

I wanted a bit more information because if I see something similar in the future I will know to report it or at least take a second glance.

So you are just asking that he clears up the issue on if these are knives being sold on this forum or not?

I'm not really sure what the 14 post on this forum and 4 in this thread means.

How am I trolling? I don't see how I'm trying to create a argument here. I'm just trying to understand what additional information is needed here.
