Hello all,
I have joined recently and have had to sell off some items from my late Dad's collection.
Among his knives was a short, unsharpened, but very pointy sword. He told me when I was a kid that his Dad (who had served in the US Army in Italy in WWII) had taken the sword, a bunch of jewelry and some other odds and ends off of dead german soldiers, and that the sword specifically had come from an officer.
Now, as a kid Id always wished that grandad had brought a Luger home instead, but no such luck. In addition, my sister, in her younger days had broken into the old mans cabinets and stolen all the jewelry to sell for weed.
When I went through my dad's things, I found the sword, a small notebook/calendar in german with nazi symbols on it as well as an old red cloth armband, also with a nazi symbol.
I dont know anything about WWII collectibles, swords or otherwise. Does anyone here have any idea what this sword might be worth?
