Any company still making Boy Scout Knife patterns?

Hello all,

Just a quick question. Recently I purchased a brand-new, still in its case 1996 Camillus Boy Scout Knife (still waiting for it to arrive in the mail). After finding this gem of a knife I got to thinking that this is such a useful pattern (main blade, can opener, bottle opener/screwdriver and awl), are there any current manufacturers making this pattern (outside of Victorinox)? I know many SAK's fill this role but there is something about a jigged bone handle and carbon steel that makes this pattern wonderful.

Anyway, I will post pics once I get this knife but I would love to pick up some current production knives that are of this pattern, preferably with a bail and USA made.

Case still does.

Victorinox Pioneer is also the same blade configuration. Edit: Which you already said besides SAKs.

The Case Junior Scout is a bit smaller than the old-school scout knives at 3 3/8", but it is the same blade / tool set up. Kind of pricey as Case knives go, too.

The current Case isn't doing it for me.

I think the best best right now is to stick with oldies of the auction sites.

Somebody really needs to give a huge nudge to GEC.

Version 1: retro with classic 4 tools, jigged bone scale and a bail.
Version 2: Farm and Field with scissors replacing the can opener and a file/phillips scraper tool replacing the awl in 440C and derlin scales.

C'mon GEC!!!

I like the look of the case knife a little. I still think the older camillus are the best. So I will continue to search the internet for older knives.

Bear & Son makes some scout patterns. Queen has the tooling to make them, and they have made some limited runs, but they do not make one in their regular product line.

Queen will be releasing a Scout pattern in the near future. And in D2, I believe . It's a good thing; waiting for GEC's whims could use up a good chunk of lifespan and they still probably won't give us stainless when they get around to it.

Bring on a bone-handled Scout!

THIS! Version 1 though. I just want a new production like the classic 4 tool like Camilus made. This would be an amazing seller!

Here's a Bulldog scout which is the same as the Weidmansheil. Both do not have a bail otherwise they are pretty nice knives.

Here's a Bear MGC Scout made about 3 years ago. they also make all the new remington reproduction scouts. The 2010 model can be had for a fair price on the bay. Make no mistake though the Camillus scouts are a much better knife. In fact the 2007 Case 45 pattern made by Camillus is a good choice as well.

This is a 2002 yellow delrin scout made by Camillus for Case.

would be great to have scissors, but I wonder if they are up to that - scissors are really hard to get right, Tim Leatherman baulked at making scissors for the longest time for the Leatherman tools until they knew that they could match the perfection of vic scissors, and GEC even made a mistake with the caplifter on the forum knife, as fantastic as they were otherwise.

ag russell said on another thread that he would be making a rerun of his scout knife this year, with a pretty good steel too, I've forgotten what.
