I have heard all of the good stuff about this knife, but does anyone have any complaints? Anything bad/annoying that you dislike about this knife?

I wish it was a bit bigger. The endura was too big though...took me a bit to get used to the delica...

The reinforced point annoys me, as does the lower saber grind used on all but the G-10 version. Both are features derived from feedback, so I guess I'm in the minority preferring cutting ability of thin blades with sharp points over the prying power of thick blades with round points.

I also don't care for the new point. 4 is a tad heavier, not a big deal, but noticable. I wish they had a size between 3 and 4" as well. Call it Stamina :)

It's simplicity makes it great. Perfect size for all tasks. I do prefer a flat grind but the reinforced tip does make it a strong blade along with the lock-back. Super light.. I forget I have it on all the time. If you don't notice it, then its a perfect EDC. Don't think you can go wrong. Do wish they made aftermarket G10 scales (I'd snag some right quick).

Probably my only complaint on the Delica, also. I've got several different Delicas but my first one, one of the older, pre-reinforced tip, models is still my favorite.

the only complaint that i have is that i lost the first delica i bought in 1986, have another one though.

wonderful knife, serrated or plain edge

The Delica/Enduras really are amazing & there's something for everyone, it seems. If one likes the FFG blade, there're the G-10 versions. They also decided to make them waved & non-waved, H1 blades, &, my favorite, the ZDP-189 ones.

If you want one lighter, get the H1 Salt versions. IIRC, the Delica size one is 2.0 oz. vs 2.5 oz. & the Endura size one is 3.0 oz. vs 3.6 oz. Also, while it has a curved blade, there's the Tasman Salt, which is in between the Delica & Endura sized folders.

Spyderco make plenty of slicers, though. I love the Delica's beater style blade. It's the kind of knife that does whatever, and you don't have to worry about it. Makes a great gift knife. If you go fully serrated, the grinds won't matter. A fully serrated Delica is a cutting machine.

I hate the tip, its needs to have a splinter picker tip, there is no reason for a knife with a sub 3" blade to need a reinforced tip IMO. I've stopped carrying mine, while I love the knife I can't get past ungodly useless tip.

I'm with you on the point. A few minutes with the belt sander and I have a nicely profiled, pointy blade on both my Delicas.

That's pretty much what happens to all mine. Delica 4, Endura 4, Police 3, all have run into a grinder.

My Delica 4 in ZDP-189 has turned out to be my favorite everyday knife, even though I've got several others that cost a lot more. The blade/steel combo performs very well and does bigger jobs than I expected possible. However, the blade shape isn't a great slicer (as others have said a flat grind would help there), and the David Boye dent serves no purpose other than make it unnecessarily hard to close the knife.

Saber grind, little bit of backwards play on the lockup. Other then that its a great knife.

I like the dent actually.

I love my Endura ZDP as reground by Tom Krein to a FFG with spliter picker tip. It is a common regrind he does on Delicas as well, and is worth the very reasonable fee he charges considering the huge leap in cutting ability and looks IMO. I guess the main thing I can say against the Delica though is that the Stretch FRN and it's great blade are coming out soon in both ZDP-189 and VG-10 flavors, so if you can take a 3.5" blade the Stretch FRN will give you superior ergos and blade geometry for not much more money.

I like the enforced tip, and I've been able to slice and cut through anything I've ever tried to cut with it with ease.

I don't really like the blade play. All back locks seem to have the vertical travel, but the Delica also has side-to-side play that worsens as the pivot loosens. If you try to tighten the play out, it becomes hard to open before the play goes away.

That said, it's still one of my favorite EDC knives!
