Does anyone out there own one of these. If so, please let me know what you think about them.

I'm quite pleasured with mine. It's very special knife, something like BM AFCK on steroids

Very decently made, first notch execution quality. Lockup is very solid even with LAWKS safety disengaged. Nicely designed pocket clip, it doesn't affect handling comfort at all (for me at least). Thick liners, entire construction looks very strong, however I didn't try to break it yet

The handle shape provides great handling security and could be very comfortable. Unfortunately the right scale has pretty sharp edge in forefinger area and can bit the finger in tight grip. I'm also not partial to these cutouts in handle scales. Maybe they should provide better handling security but in my opinion it's not necessary. On the other hand they catch pocket edge quite efficiently when drawing knife. I'm going to replace the scales with custom ones of home made "micarta" when I'll have a small bit of free time.
Here is mine in natural size.

Hint: if you do not like opening stud - just screw it out and through away

Don't own one. But, have read several threads with compliaints about the difficulty of drawing the 7 from a pocket.

Some folks don't care for the huge thumbstuds. On the other hand, some folks have found that they are easy to remember, and that the size of the hole is very similar to the Spyder hole. If you like Spydies -- I sure do -- it gives the knife a whole new dimension.

I think everyone is agreed that it is one stout, strong knife.

I handled one and didn't like the feel of the grip at all. It was very uncomfortable--sharp edges and just the wrong ergonomics for me. I do like the blade shape, but if a knife is uncomfortable to hold, I don't buy it because I won't use it.

it seems like the draw problem could be simply fixed by rounding (sand/file) the edges of the cutouts under the clip. The sharper/more angular the cutouts, the more likely the pocket material is to get stuck in the grooves on the draw. ???

Personally, I LOVE the way it feels. There are very few production knives that have such good ergonomics.

FWIW, I got one and am in the process of selling it. Grip is uncomfortable, blade rubs against liner, & the thumb stud is the most awkward I've tried. Another complaint I've read elsewhere is the tendency of the slots in the Zytel grips to collect dust bunnies.

whoops. see below.

how about the steel? Does anyone use one of these as an EDC/utility? How does the edge hold up to actual use?</font>

P.S. Segiusz - the phrase "I'm quite pleasured" has connotations you may not have intended in this context . . . !

I think that many forumites are forgetting that this knife was designed as a TOUGH TACTICAL KNIFE. It was NOT meant to be a dust-bunny repellant knife. It was NOT meant to fit into a pair of suit-slacks or dockers. We should realize that this knife was meant to be on par with the Strider folder, not with other smaller folders. If most of us used the knife like it was intended (or had a need for such a knife) then I'm sure it would be much more appreciated. There are certain features on this knife that a lot of folks have complained about, but most of the complaints seem to be out of context that is a TOUGH tactical folder, and nothing else. YMMV, of course.

Wrong term? OK, I'll try to clear my impressions: not excited, not disappointed - maybe quite satisfied would sound better...
I'll be almost completely satisfied when I'll replace scales and correct forefinger bit in tight grip. Absolutely satisfied I would be if I could also change the blade steel to VG-10

I agree with Pergatory. With regard to the "uncomfortable" grip, Steve told me that he designed it to be a fighter rather than a sustained use utility knife. As a result, the grip is contoured for the most secure handling and retention of the knife, rather than for maximum comfort over a long period of use. After all, if you have to use it in a self-defense situation, you are unlikely to be cutting for more than a few seconds, minutes on the very outside.

Personally, the use of a little sandpaper on the edges of the scales made it very comfortable for me.

HOLY COW!!! I can't believe someone actually agrees with me for once. What a nice change
