Does anyone know of any comparative pictures between the Crossbill and the Spyderhawk? Man am I impressed by the quality of my new Crossbill!

You sir are my hero! Thanks for the speedy post!

I don't see a significant difference in blade lengths, but realize there will be differences in performance due to the angle of the downswept blades and steel types. In real world use, is there a significant difference between the Spyderhawk and the Crossbill from a performance standpoint? Do the seration styles differ enough to make a real difference in cutting or sharpenability?

Thanks again!

The teeth are more aggressive on the Spyderhawk. The one in the picture is one of the older VG-10 'Hawks, which holds an edge quite a bit better than the Crossbill. The new H-1 Spyderhawk is the same shape with the same curve and blade angle as the one pictured, and the H-1 steel holds up a bit better than 8Cr13MoV, though not as well as VG-10. I prefer the curve and angle of the Spyderhawk myself. I maintain the serrations with a Byrd Duckfoot and a SharpMaker, although that may change now that I have a Golden Stone. So far, I haven't seen a big difference in sharpening one kind of serration over the other.

Where does one get a Byrd Duckfoot, and it is apparant you like your Spyderhawk best from the photo. Can you also speak to what the Golden Stone is as I am ignorant here as well. Thanks for your help!

I got my first Duckfoot off eBay, and the backup I just picked up at the factory seconds sale. The Golden stone is a fine ceramic version of the Duckfoot. You can see the two in the middle of this picture.

The first picture was taken the day I got my first Crossbill. Trust me, it doesn't look like that anymore. ;) I currently carry a serrated H-1 Spyderhawk to cover that portion of the job spectrum.
