Any crossbow shooters here?

I've been hunting with a Excalibur Exocet 200 for about ten years and have killed whitetail deer, wild hogs, and wild turkey with it here in Florida.

Due to a shoulder injury, I sold my compound bow and bought the Excalibur to hunt with, I like the simplicity of using a re-curve crossbow.

Me to. I like the compact size of the 330 series of bows. I'm looking hard at the nightmare from Excaliber. If you get the opportunity you should check it out. Whole lot of power in a small recurve package.

I picked up an Excalibur Matrix 380 two seasons ago due to a shoulder injury and 3 surgeries.
I ended up hunting with a buddy in an area DEVOID of deer so I haven't taken anything with it yet. I lost last season to the fourth surgery, a total replacement so I'm itching to get it out this year.

I've been consistently amazed at its accuracy when I practice with it. I only have 60 yards available across my yard in the burbs but it'll reach across that distance instantly and right where I want it to hit-it feels like cheating compared to using the old compound.
The simplicity of the recurve and the ease of working on it has really amazed me. If I ever wear this one out I'll be getting another Excalibur- I'm sold on their product.

I've only used the suggested bolt for it, the Diablo. Do you guys have any suggestions for a different bolt?

I ordered some bolts from Black Eagle. The zombie slayers. Still waiting on those, and I have cut some old Goldtip hunters to 18 inches, but I think they are to light. Think I'll put some heavy brass inserts in there and see how that go's. I can't complain about the Diablo arrows though. I'm still shooting the first four that came with the bow.

Thanks for the reply.
I bought a 6 pack so that I didn't have to do so much walking back and forth while practicing (😉, I'm lazy that way) and I can't find any fault with any of the 10 Diablo's that I have other than a few knocks pulled out, but those were easily fixed.
So many other shooters around here talk so much about different bolt lengths, weights, spine, FOC, etc that I've been wondering if I'm really missing out on something or if they're just tinkering like the guys that load their own for their favorite precision rifle. Special loads are nice but I've always done well with Remington Core-Lokt-maybe that's why I've been satisfied so far with the Diablo
I've just been assuming that since Excal made the Diablo for that line up of X-bows that it should be good enough.

How are the nocks coming out? Shouldn't have nocks on xbow arrows just a flat end cap.

You got flat and half moons. Excaliber uses aluminium flat nocks that are threaded for an arrow unlink tool. Some times instead of pulling the arrow the nock pulls out. I like flats better, but prefer plastic non-threaded nocks myself.

Gotcha.. I used to use arrow lube and a rubber grip on some backstops.
