I have been thinking of getting one for some time now. It would be great for times when I can't carry a pistol. I'd love to hear your stories of your sword canes.

There are several that intrigue me as well. I prefer a longer cane for the brisk paced walks and hikes that I take. It seems 37" is about the longest. A weight bearing cane is a different animal and I would need a cane about that length. While strolling of going up and down steep hills, I find a longer cane is needed. I have several long wooden canes that I use as well as several hiking staffs that I've made. If Cold Steel offered a longer cane , I'd definitely want to check one out.

Are your canes just canes or are they sword canes too?

I have several CS sword canes:D, unfortunately, I can't carry in public as that is illegal in Oklahoma.

Well, stricter gun laws have passed here and pretty soon, I bet getting a CCW will be much more difficult. Penalties for carrying illegally have been increased to around 20-40 years depending on circumstances. Sword canes though are just subject to fines and confiscation if caught. So guess why I'm thinking of one or two. :D

The heavy duty cane is a bit heavier, but a great choice, since it is the only true sword cane as well. Razor sharp and very tough. There other sword canes are actually cruciform blades. Extremely tough point, very sharp, but no edge to the rest of the blade.
I have all of there canes, walking sticks, and sword canes except the micarta head design and I like the heavy duty model by far the most if you dont mind the weight. And for a sword cane it has the best price tag.

Thanks, that's the kind of feedback I was looking for.

Your welcome! By the way, if you purchase the Heavy Duty model, to stop the occasional rattle from the blade tapping the inside of the aluminum shaft. I sprayed a little "Great Stuff" down into the shaft and, problem solved! Happy buying! LOL!

I couldn't find a sword cane any longer than 37". I just use a regular hickory cane of walking sticks that I've made. I think I' may buy a heavy duty sword cane for walks on the street. There's an old deserted golf course that has some real steep hills where I walk that I prefer a longer stick.

I've been selling the CS HD Sword Cane at Gun & Knife Shows for years, and when I demonstrate them to potential customers, one of the things I do is show that there is no rattle. As long as both O-rings are there and functional, you should not have any rattle in normal use. A little bit of occasional silicone spray or grease goes a long way in keeping the O-rings supple. By far the best seller.
