I'm considering having a jambiya made which will not only be quite functional, but also a good looking knife as well.

Which custom knifemakers do you recommend and why? Post examples of their work with this style, if available.

Thanks,

Harry

Jambiya? Isn't that some sort of spicy southern dish?:D I met Jot Singh last weekend and got to handle a few of his knives. His work is incredible and priced accordingly. The cheapest knife on his table was $750 and I saw him sell two while I was there. He may also do that style as knife jewelry which he sells alot of. He's a very accomplished craftsman!

Bub Worrell has done a very nice jambiya. Contact him at 765-483-0705. Bub is one of the most fun makers I've ever worked with, and I recommend him highly.

Some of his work is at Knives.com

Eduard Bradichinsky was an Israeli knife maker who did beautiful work in that area. Spyderco released the "shabaria" model a while back that was designed by him. Unfortunately, he was kileed last summer in an Arab terrorist attack while driving in his car. He will be missed.:(

Hello

I saw Bub's work and if the knife is the one I think it is, it is really great.
Another good maker who would surely be able to make you a jambyia as traditional as can be is VInce Evans - and usually for a very fair price, considering the quality of his work. I don't think he has a website but you can get his adress through Knives 2001 or any of the earlier editions, I think.
