Any Custom Shop updates?

I was told last year the Custom Shop would be opening up for orders again around October 2016. Obviously you can never exactly estimate with backlogs but I was just checking in to see if there are any updates for a projected re-opening.

Thanks!

I could say two weeks, but I have not heard any updates.

I asked in an email a few weeks back and was not given a definite answer.

I think the shop is completely overwhelmed right now. I don't see the Custom Shop opening back up for a while. Maybe when Op 2 weeks part 2 is finished?

operation 2 weeks was roughly one or two knives a week available for only that time period. then, next week, different knife. busse took a break, and hasn't resumed the operation 2 weeks yet. I think the "two weeks" title came from the long running joke about, when you call busse to see when your knife will be shipped, they would always say "2 weeks".....

I think.

Whilst I completely understand the temporary closure of the Custom shop.... I feel like its the beginning of the end..... or the end of an era... Like the brand has just gotten too popular to realistically continue to take custom orders.

I really hope things go back to how they used to be where getting a custom would only be a 4-6 month process. Sadly I reckon those days are gone for good. Busse is beginning to reach critical mass with all the additional advertising etc.

Here's hoping I'm way off and completely wrong here...

Nobody's ever too popular to realistically continue to take custom orders, though the price/order allocation method may need to change. It'll depend on what Busse chooses to prioritize: getting as many things with a Busse logo out the door as they can, or, dedicating to the CS man hours that could otherwise be used to produce many more production run blades. If they do the latter, and that's by no means certain IMO given the nature of what we've seen them doing this last year, I expect the price will go up substantially to help cover the fact that they could be making more off larger runs of generic coated blades.

I've also been curious to see when they reopen and what they decide to do. For now I've just been trolling the Busse For Sales by individual forum for what I'm looking for.

I have about six custom shop requests at the ready, should they decide to reopen. Three of them are a single knife variant that I want three of. :D

Hate to admit it, but I agree with this statement! Busse has found a way to reach the masses (O2W-Internet sales) The good ole days could indeed be a (thing of the past)
Hate to be a pessimist dudes, but I highly doubt the custom shop will re-open :(

This still gives me hope...

The Busse Custom Shop is not gone. . . . it's just hibernating!

When it finally loses enough weight, it will re-emerge. . . leaner. . . meaner. . . . and much more exciting!

Here's to the Custom Shop! . . . . We always drink to the Custom Shop!!!

Let's Drink!

Yes, I know this was from January. And no, I haven't learned my lesson after the Busse Folder announcement. :D

With the popularity of all the O2W blades and comments seen on the forum for customization perhaps Jerry is hesitant to reopen the custom shop. I believe that "Opening" day would create such a flood of requests that the "Old 2 Weeks" joke will be more like 2 years wait list.
