Does anyone know if any data is available regarding the strength of Emerson's liner-lock mechanisms? I'm curious as to how much force I could apply if it really came down to it without damaging or breaking the lock.
Separate question - the liner on my Specwar model actually appears to be a bit thicker than the liner on my Commander. Is that an illusion due to the smaller blade, or does the Specwar have a somewhat beefed-up liner?
The surface that meets the liner on the Specwar also seems to be angled more sharply than the commander, so the lockup is very solid and the liner always sits in the exact same place every time you unlock the knife. This is unlike my Commander. The Commander liner is not as stable and will stop farther to the right sometimes, especially when the knife is "waved" opened.
