As the title says. This Christmas money has been burning a hole and I can't find a seb I want. Didn't think it would be this hard finding one. I've went through at least 50 dealers on the CRK website with no luck.

I like the Snake wood also.....

Jan I, thanks a ton. I left a MSG! What a huge selection. I wonder If they are all in stock?

too solid, on that site they only show a knife if it is stock. When they sell a knife, they move the entry to their "archives". So said the proprietor when I spoke to him a week or two ago.

I have no affiliation with them or anyone else. But in my experience looking for a particular knife, if you snooze you lose.

I have purchased a couple of Chris Reeve knives from Only fine Knives with no problems. I like their service and the archive section has a great selection of past Chris Reeve knives that they have sold.

Thanks guys, i left a voicemail saying I want it and what their international shipping policy is since I'm in Canada. Thanks again!

Now that I'm seeing the stock on their site I'm debating between the Snakewood and the Madagascar Rosewood. I love them both! Maybe I should sell one of my watches and get both (not because of the money, because It will be easier to justify to my wife that way if i bought both)

^^That is a hard one to pick between, I love the snake wood, but I was
also eyeing a Madagascar at first.....Good luck with that one!

I think they just made my decision easier. I got hold of OnlyFineKnives and the Snakewood sold yesterday. Madagascar Rosewood it is!

The madagascar rosewood is sold as well :( I may hold off until I can find a snakewood, but if another madagascar rosewood comes up I'll probably go with that. Both of them on Onlyfineknives have sold recently.

I'm a little confused - did the rosewood sell after you asked but before you called back to say you wanted to buy it?

I called and left a MSG yesterday saying I'll take the snakewood if its available. Called again today and spoke to Shane I believe was his name. He told me that he thinks the Snakewood sold yesterday, and that the site hadn't been updated in about a week. He was on the road and told me he'd be back in an hour. I told him to double check, and if it is sold I'd take the Madagascar Rosewood. When he called an hour later I found out they were both sold. He does have the mammoth, ebony, african blackwood, bocote and cocobolo. I'm a bit bummed out, but rather then settling I think I'll just wait until I find the right one. Bad luck indeed lol ah well, on the bright side, it is Saturday! :)

I checked Only Fine Knives site and I would get the small mammoth damascus. It looks like a real nice one, it would cost more but it is sweet.

ebony, african blackwood, bocote and cocobolo
The only one in that group that I wouldn't take and be very happy with is the bocote, which is sometimes a little plain.

Edit - just looked at the bocote and that's nice, too. But! - it's your knife and YOU are the one who should be happy with it! :)

I have a used Snakewood that I'd let go for someone looking...I'm the only owner and she's been used and carried for about 2 years but I'd give it up. I'm not interested in posting it on the XC, just looking to help a fellow BF'er out

I have a Small Sebenza with Bocote and it is very easy on the eye. I liked Cocobolo long before I heard of Chris Reeve. Ebony and African Blackwood can have eye grabbing grain patterns or can be very uniformly black 'ish - and I like them either way. I would not turn down a Snakewood inlayed knife, but it is not so near the top of my wish list. You should see my Large Sebenza with Desert Ironwood. I have yet to take a photo of it that comes anywhere near revealing the depth of the detail in the grain. The photos from TAGannon from whom I purchased it are still on the forum here.

See it and be sad that this beauty is not yours. :D

It is all good. Get something that calls out to you, something that you will put in your pocket, carry and use like the great tool it is.
