It was a custom piece designed by it's original owner. Drawings were made and sent into Jerry via Andy Prisco who was working with Busse Combat at the time... not sure if he still does. Jerry made what changes he thought were important to the function of the sword. I think it was made in 2004. Anyway... it left it's original owner who fell in love with a woman and was going to use the money to buy her a ring. He traded Dragon's Fang to Chuck "Onewhobuys" for some cash and a few 1911s since at the time no one had the cash to just buy it outright. The original onwer sold the 1911s to gain more cash and bought the girl a ring. She later failed him and it was all a big waste of time. since then Dragon's Fang has been passed to a few more owners (Not sure how many after Chuck). Her orginal price was $3,400.00 without a sheath. So you see Dragon's Fang has a tragic history.

so the two pics up above (gus´s and the one by the tree) are the same Dragons fang:eek:

dundun dunnnnn!!!!The Plot Thickens!!!

¨Gus gimmie that Fang,fish...gimmie that!Fish...Ooooohhh¨Fillet o fish song:foot:

Different blade catch and possibly different handle material. Two distinct blades.

I think they are different...
and I believe the two on the tree are still where I think they are. :foot: :foot: :D

.

+2 it looks like different blades to me. The blade catches on the one leaning against the tree looks like it has scallops on back of the blade catch. The DF also has finger grooves it's entire length (which I don't really care for too much on that type of handle).

The DF is definitely a grail piece of Infi for sure.

Do tell, those appear to be pics I have not seen before. If it is a DF length blade, but without the finger grooves on the front of the handle I would be doubly impressed, and interested. A matching DF length blade with a smaller Wak sized one with matching blade catch, and without finger grooves sounds like a double grail set!!!!!!!

Some one Needs to spill the beans!

where did that pic come from??????

Fess UP!

Ummmm... I think the owner took the pic. :)

The swords in the picture are not the DF- but they have a name, just cant place it now. I would assume, like all beautiful peices of Busse history you would have to go out west to Idaho to find them. That picture and the one on badmojo are what got me into Busse knives to begin with!!

To add to the DF history lesson-

There are rumors that there is another INFI sword, But it is supposed to be much smaller- 30 inches and no one has ever shown pictures. The original owner actually used the sword for what is was meant for- training, cutting and such. He then sold it to 1whobuys. I assume Onewhobuys also used the DF,but not as heavily as 1st owner.(probably because he had the Chuckete to abuse) There are wear marks at the sweet spot and tip of the sword due to use, but nothing a solid cleaning/ Busse spa trip could not fix. It came to me from 1whobuys. It picked up a foldover kydex sheath along the way also.

The nuts and bolts-
37 inches long, 25 inch blade,11 finger grooves, 2.4 lbs with a blade catch, INFI from top to bottom. SNAKESKIN handles. The grind is very special as well. Jerry hand ground and put a hollow grind on the tip. He also made it super sharp like an EDC and not a chopper. The hollow grind has not been repeated on anything else at the shop as best I can tell.

For comparison, a AK-47 is 29 inches total and has an 18.5 inch blade.

A few pictures and a word of advice, when 1whobuys sells the Chuckette, I will trample whoever it takes to get it!!!

thus speaketh Hogustus!!!

The DF is truly the grail of all Busse's. It is the top, the pinnacle, the most desired and perhaps the most expensive.

Nah... Dragon's Fang has finger grooves... the only busse with that many finger grooves. 11 I think to be exact.

There was a 30"/31" overall length INFI with slotted handle fasteners.

I remember the Fella I sold it to.

He has a lot now.

I think I have the original pics of DF before she left Ohio to her original owner. I'll see if I can dig them up in my home computer later tonight.
