Hey everyone!

I've been looking for a pocket knife that is sharp but also is very comfortable in the hand for my EDC.

I'd love any and all suggestions!

Welcome to the forum. I think you will find some really great options out there. Can you tell us what you've used in the past? Do you like a knife the clips to your pocket? What size knife do you prefer? Budget?

Those things will help a lot. If I recommend a $200 dollar knife with a 4 inch blade that you can't legally carry or is not in your budget that's not much help to you. :)

Based on your very stringent requirements, I would strongly suggest a knife with a black handle. Wait......or maybe blue. ;)

More parameters will definitely help us narrow things down.

That said, check out the Ontario Rat 1 and 2, ESEE Avispa and Zancudo, Steel Will Cutjack and Mini Cutjack, Ruike P801, Cold Steel Ultimate Hunter, Spyderco Chaparral lightweight, Spyderco Manix 2 and the Benchmade Bugout. That's a pretty broad variety of blades, price points, materials, lock mechanisms and such.

Tell us which ones of those appeal to you and we can almost certainly tell you more like them.

Spyderco Delica.
What he said. Everybody needs one. I'm a dyed in the wool traditional slipjoint guy but still grab my Delica when I need a one hand opener. Usually when kayaking, fishing etc. Great clip for water shorts/sports--KV

Im sorry for not going into too much detail on my preferences, my budget is about 100, I've used some cheap knives from budk.com and they were mostly ridge runner, they are okay but the edge leaves very fast, I'd like the knife to not be too big, like no longer than 8" long when open, I do prefer a knife with a pocket clip, I'll check out all the recommended knives so far.

Get a Victorinox Tinker
They're very sharp, easy to sharpen, and not uncomfortable in hand at all.
Sure it's not ergonomically shaped or anything but a knife can be comfortable in hand without trying to be.
They're also people friendly, highly useful for more than just cutting, and only cost $20.

Welcome to the forum. If you've been buying your knives at budk, I'm happy to say a big wonderful knife world awaits you. The Spyderco Delica is something you may want to check out.

I would check out the the Kershaw Emerson cqc 10k or 11k. Especially since it only 30 to 40 dollars. I carry the 11k as a beater. Then the Spyderco Paramilitary 2 as a higher end choice. But it runs $130

If you're new here, and serious about knives like most of us are....it won't matter what you buy. Because in a non-certain/set amount of time, you prolly be either selling it or trading it for something that catches your eye and you feel you just have to have.
In other words....Welcome to our World.

Have to agree with the Spyderco Delica. Check out the steels offered and see which one suits your purpose best.
IMHO, a picture of a Spyderco Delica is what you should see when you look up "pocket knife" in the dictionary.

Comfort can be subjective, especially because of the different grips we gravitate towards for different tasks. For example, I use a different grip for cutting steak (palm reinforced grip) then I use for boxes (hammer grip, although many people use saber grip). Also, beveling can make a difference if you are doing a lot of hard cuts without gloves. Personally, the most comfortable folders I own are an Opinel #8/9 and a Buck 110/112. Vic's are pretty comfortable too. However, I often carry my ZT or BM's because sometimes it's nice to have something thinner in the pocket with a 3"-4" sized blade. I don't carry my Spydies often, as they seem more setup for a saber grip.

In regards to sharpness, assuming a manufacturer with good steel and HT QC, it's really more about having a good sharpener IMO... my Opinel's have 1095 steel and came pretty dull, but were slicing paper with a little time on a SharpMaker. If you are on a budget and prefer a more modern folder, the Rat 1 is very comfortable.

Get yourself spyderco pm 2. Either lightly used or lnib can be found here for 100$(sometimes less, depending what blade steel, although I just bought PM 2 m4 for $100 user). Great knife. IMHO

If your local / state / federal laws allow it:

Cheap & Lightweight Option = Spyderco Delica 4
Better but Heavier Option = Spyderco Paramilitary 2

I only use folding pocket knives for "normal" knife stuff so I'm not worried about "tactical" or "harduse" construction. I use to carry a ZT 301 but it was a heavy beast that wasn't actually very "slicy". Spyderco makes easy to sharpen "slicy" knives.

If I need to go "tactical" or "hard use" ... I use one of my Busse products.
