It seems like i am the only person who was curious/foolish enough to try a Hard Wear.

Anybody else out there care to share their experiences with this line of Emersons?

I also posted a similar question at
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=346820

Also, i hope to purchase a Maxx 1 SF as soon as i can. I like Emersons but am not a fan of the chisel grind for general outdoor/utility use.

Any info on either of these knives will be appreciated.
Thanx.

hi!
I've got the three models, and they are similar to others RFN knives (like spydie endura, delica,...). They're good to wear (lightweight), and hard to work. They're die hard.
But, they're ugly!!Instead of that fact, it's a nice purchase!

I like the handle shape with the deep finger cutout. I wish more folders were like that.

I have a reliant I have used the crap out of. I am going to get another one. I feel it is one of the best inexpensive knives out there.

'99 CQC7BBT, I carried this knife daily for 3 years except for occasions when I belt carried a Buck110 Knockoff (maybe both, who remembers). No repairs were needed whatsoever. Emerson's are the easiest to clean folders, take them apart, that's why they used slotted and phillips screws. I usually just run 'em around in a dish of soapy water, dry (an air compressor gets it all out)and oil. Yeah G10 is worn slick, BT is worn in places, but it looks great, polished razor edge and I know where it's at. Got a Reliant sitting on the coffee table, it sees a lot of my "general utility" duties now, but I can't say anything but good about Emerson Knives. Dying for a CQC8 or Bowie. As far as the Hard Wear Reliant: lightweight, good grip, solid lock-up, sharpens easy, and it say's Seki on it (imho that's the same as what Soligen Steel meant to the old timers). Went to look at it and remembered I left it in the truck after digging around the coffee table. I don't have any problem with it, good knife, reasonably priced.

i have looked at them, they looked on par with spyderco delica/endura imho, perfectly good knives ...........i dont like FRN myself though, give me G10 or ti everytime, FRN just looks cheap to me, aesthetics, works fine though. i would think they would do anything a endura would, radical looking serrations on them too.

I've got one and LOVE it!! To bad state side mede emersons don't have the true satin finish anymore.

And, damn , talk about sharp right out of the box!

I like to keep it in the car incase I head out of the house and forget to bring a knife.

For the price it's one hell of a hard knife to beat :D
