I didn't go. Does anyone who went know if there were custom Emersons for sale? Rumor Control reports at least 1 full dress CQC6, as well as a 5, 6, & 7 also were there for the taking. Who were the lucky ones? Any dealers?

Ellis posted in the Knives Wanted forum that he got a couple, one full dress 6

From the description, it sounds like he picked up one of the "Japanese", Fulldress, Right hand grind, Damascus Viper bladed CQC6s.

Just a guess on my part.

It was under Knives wanted. He replied to both my post for Emerson Customs wanted, and also to AncientSuls post for Emersons wanted.

Devon Thomas Ladder pattern Damascus if I'm not mistaken. It's hard to get a real feel for just how good it looks in person.

Click here to see Mary Emerson's Mach1, it was one of the best looking pieces of Damascus I had ever seen. The picture really does not do it justice. I believe the name of the pattern was "Stars and Aliens".

And here is a good shot of the Damascus CQC7B "Custom/Production" prototype that is owned by a member of this forum. This is Devon Thomas Spirograph patterned Damascus.

No, please! Patrick is the King. I'm trying hard to keep his dust in sight.

I went to MT yesterday and took a bunch of pictures. I'll open the album up soon. There was some pretty interesting items laying around.

That's a good looking knife, but is it "custom/production" if the blade says Emerson Specwar Knives on it? That's Ernie's personal mark, not the EKI production company's mark. He's gone to great lengths to have the two seen as separate, so it would appear that your CQC7 is a custom knife. I can't read the logo on Mary's knife to say about the Mach 1.

Your knife is just like the majority of CQC8s; it has flat, machined g-10 handles instead of the hand turned variety - which no one would suggest makes them "custom/production".

From what we've seen here, a "custom/production" knife is one that has the EKI logo, but includes different handles, bolsters, etc.

You are correct. At this years Blade Show, Ernie brought and sold four Damascus CQC7Bs and three Damascus Mach1s. There was a fourth Damascus Mach1, but that was Mary's and was not for sale. All of these knives were hand ground Devin Thomas Damascus, "Specwar" marked and beautiful.

These knives were prototypes for the upcoming EKI "Custom/Production" line.

Hope this helps

John,

With all of the time that you spend visiting Knife companies, Creating great digital photos and moderating forums, how do you find time for real work?

I need some help here..

Regarding the above pictures and the good fortune you all have to own customs, I have this to say,

until I found this place it had been a LOT of years since I cried...probably the last time my beloved Broncos lost the Superbowl...
