Any experience with "ColonialGunWorks", "HandBForge", or "Goodwin"?

I'm wondering if anyone has purchased a hawk though any of these makers:

I really like the design of the Renegade Tomahawk by Ranger knives (I like the hand worked look and the head design particularly), and the Turner hawks look excellent for the price too.

This must be the worst thing I've seen yet:

Anyone even know what it's made out of?

I've had 4 H&B hawks. I say "had" cuz I sold one.
Will Barber is a great hawk-smith. (H&B)
You will not be sorry if you go that route.
Can't say for the others.

I have an H&B shawnee with an arrow spike on the back, it's pretty nice. I could be off but to me the hawk on the colonial site appears to be an H&B hawk.

I have several FT hawks and they are nice. I looked at HB hawks but could not get them to return any of my e-mails. No experience with the other 2 you have listed.

I REALLY liked the look of the COLONIAL spike hawk, but you may be right, perhaps it's just the lighting in the photo that makes it look different from the HB one.

Hmm, I'm seriously thinking about the HB one now....

There's enough folks here that have the FT hawks and love em', so for me that's an excellent reccommendation.

I do like the spike on the HB/COLONIAL models as it's a little down turned and a little longer.

What's the wrapping like on the handle of some of the FT hawks? I'm not sure if I like the handle wrapping (I was thinking on the FT Rogers Ranger model).

Thanks.

Dana just uses rawhide on the Rogers Ranger model. All the other hawks have plain handles.

I got the Boarding Axe from GGGodwin. Head is way too heavy for the rather narrow handle. It came dull. I love the profile, but there is just too much meat on this thing. Definitely fixable, can go in 2 different directions with modification, but it will REQUIRE modification to be usable. There seem to be two axes in this series, with oval handles, and then standard tear drop handles for the hawks, but I could be wrong. I won't recommend them, but I wouldn't trash talk them either. I was more interested in the profile.
