Was looking for a Kabar FB when I found the 6000 folder series. They look okay and the price is very nice..but does someone have any experience with them?!

What I know of is that the series contains the:
- 6000 Tactical Folder Part serr.
- 6001 Folder Modified Tanto
- 6002 Folder Warthog
- 6003 Folder Clip Blade
- 6004 Folder Tanto
- 6005 Folder Spear point

Im interested in daily EDC use and the quality compared to the Byrd knifes (Meadowlark). I like the 6001 and 6004, but think the knifes are build about the same. Im specially interested in:
- materials
- how the lock holds up
- ease of opening/closing
- edge holding
- edge grind (they look hollow?!)

The one's I looked up are very cheap, and made in China, enough said, but most of the other kabar's that I had in the military, and made in the USA are of
good quality,and reliable.

I have the clip point version. Really, it's not that bad. I bought it for yard work and general beater to keep in the garage. I moved the thumbstud to the left side and modified the handle with a dremel to be more lefty friendly. The lockup is solid. I've had to tighten the main screw with a funky little wrench that came with the knife. So far I've used to for cutting up large cardboard boxes, cutting open several large bags of sand and landscaping. It needed some sharpening on a ceramic rod after the cardboard, and I had to used the sharpening stone after the sandbags, but I was expecting that. Good for grunt work you wouldn't want to do with your favorite blades.
