Any experience with McFeely's Pocketwrench II?

This looks like a neat little tool, but I am concerned that it may not perform as advertized, and fear the 420J2 steel might be easily deformed with use. Any thoughts?

I've got an original pocketwrench I got from Brookstone years ago. It hasn't got a lot of use but it held up real well as a pocket pry bar and the wrench part worked on my bicycle many times. It only says stainless on it but I wouldn't be surprised if it were 420J2, which is a decent structural material. VERY easy to carry, in a pocket, in a wallet, on a key ring.

I bought a couple of them early this year when I first heard about them. Sounded like a pretty cool compact little multi-function tool at the time. Turns out I haven't used mine much at all. It does have a nice flat profile, but is otherwise pretty large for what it is. I find myself using a compact multi-tool (LM Squirt or Juice) and a CountyComm micro-widgy pry bar a lot more. I suppose of I needed to losen/tighten hex head bolts on a regular basis I might use it more, but most of the time when I am doing that I'm in my shop or house where I have the proper sockets and wrenches handy.

Generally I am around other tools, and I do have a landscaping business where I have lots of hex heads to deal with. I think it would be handy to snug up something loose to get you by temporarily, or as a backside wrench while you tighten the other side with a ratchet. It seems very cool and from some research has a good reputation... I just don't know if it would be another dodad bounching around my hip. Usually I am not far from a full assortment of tools.

I always carry a Leatherman SuperTool or Charge, and I got a PocketWrench II to go with each of them. I use the Leatherman tools more, but sometimes you need to hold a nut or screw on both sides while tightening it, and the PocketWrench does so admirably...something I could never do with a Leatherman alone. Plus it fits in the Leatherman pouch.

I just got a couple in the mail yesterday from Lee Valley to give as gifts (and one for me). They seem to be well made with good clean, sharp edges on the wrench teeth.

I carry one in my GTFO bag. Sharp edges out of the box, broken down on a Scotchbrite belt for me, you might use a diamond hone…great shape, tough material, does not gouge easily, sure doesn’t deburr easily. For the money, one of the top simple tools one can purchase, have used it so far for prying, screwdriving and the intended nut busting.

Thanks for the link, kinda reminds me of the old open end ones you could find at the old yardsales in the bottom of tackle boxes and tool boxes.

I've had one for about four years now.....handy, and carried in my multitool sheath, barely noticed until needed.
