Most use D2 steel or 440 Stainless.

As you can see, I am new to knifes and am looking for a good all around fixed blade knife.

thanks,

Troy

the only downside i know of is that they are awfully high $$ - imho ya can get a custom polkawski, etc for the same or a little more $$

Exactly. Just as Sifu said, you can get a handmade knife by Al Polkowski, Barry + Phillip Jones, Greg Lightfoot, Mike Cooper, Neil Blackwood, or a whole lot of others.

Wait..a...minute...
Wilson knives are being spoken of like production knives??

I thought they were custom made by Ryan Wilson, isnt he the son of the WIlson gun dude (sorry..I cant remember his first name)
So arent they a custom?

OR am I confused again?

Go with a Dozier. Wilson's knives are very similar(imatation is the highest form of flattery, right fellas?:D). Satin, I'd consider Wilson's knives custom:). I really like his chute knife with the 1911 grips as scales though:).

I have a model #2 with a 5" blade and kydex sheath. I love the knife, but the sheath is okay. It is highly functional, but very stiff and makes A LOT of noise as it is withdrawn. It is very sharp, and a very tough knife. Knife Outlet has them for about $195.00.

Happy Boxing Day!

I have some news for you all.

Wilson Combat is in the final stage of a major collaboration with Mr. Darrel Ralph to jointly produce a semi-production folder in 3 versions.

This will be a real winner and a "must have" item.

Hope you all had a happy Christmas and all the best for the New Year.

Take care,

Neil
