Any feedback on Dunston/Hall arkansas stones?

Im picking up some new Arkansas stones for a family member(dad) and I know that Dans are good but Ive also read that Halls are good stones too and they are considerably less. Im not opposed to paying for good stuff but Ive been reading and it seems most are very satisfied with halls stones..What say you guys?

Are you pretty set on getting Arkansas stones? There are other stones that can do more for less.

Not me,him..I use dmt diasharps and waterstones or one of our grinders..Dad is pretty old school wth his pocket knives and chisels

I picked up a translucent from Best Sharpening a while back - its a very good example. Not sure how the prices stack up.

Check out Sierra Trading Post they sometimes have nice pricing on Dan's and other stones.
