Here is the deal boys and girls.

The Knives Annuals(which every knife afficianado should own) has pretty pictures of knives in it, now full color!!

The thing that makes each Annual worth owning is the directory in the back, which not only shows a breakdown of makers by state, but also lists their town/city within the state, and contact information.

Books are your friends, and reading is fundamental!!!

I'm not sure if it is true for all the 2007 copies but the one I looked through had a misprint in the directory. It skipped some of the states like mine, Massachusetts and double printed the page where my state should have been.

Someone on the forums was clearing out his stash, and I purchased every issue from 1981-to-present. If a maker was in there, I HAVE it!

I love them. I missing 1998 if anyone has a spare they want to part with. That one is hard to find for some reason.

Mine is missing that too, are you saying that it is not, however, worthwhile to have them, Chuck?

I have then since 1981 but no spares so can't help re 1998. I know they come up on EBay periodically for ridiculously low prices so just do a search and see what is available. Maybe try Klassen or the current producer if it is different, I forget.

BTW, Joe Kertzman had notified me in December of last year (2006) that the NEW deadline for the Knives 2008 Annual was Dec 31st. All current entries submitted in 2007 are directed to Knives Annual 2009.

It had to do with lead time on getting the directory printed overseas. Don't delay getting your information to them!

Steven,
They are worthwhile having. I especially like looking through the older ones for pictures of McHenry's and Williams for inspiration.

The books are great and always have been. Georgia was one of states that got left out 2007 too, still a great book. I have them all.... somewhere. I kind of wish they would leave off the "cute" comments and use that much space to describe the knife. I have a good idea how much work went into some of the knives and can't imagine how much went into others, the comments seem to make light of that effort. JMHO
